Christmas is a Christian festival celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, who Christians believe is the son of God. For most people, it takes place every year on December 25 – the day chosen by the Roman Catholic Church to mark Jesus' birthday. But, in reality, no one knows the exact date of Jesus' birth!

Chunnagam is a town located 9.7 km (6.0 mi) north of Jaffna. It is one of the important trading stations of Jaffna. The original name of the town was Myilani. In northern Sri Lanka, Chunnagam is second only to Jaffna in terms of population density and commercial activity in and around its surroundings.
