A light flicker sound effect breakdown is the last detail breakdown video out of three from my audio re-design of Andrew Huang's Spacetime trailer.

I tried to be more creative for this one and don't use the obvious electricity/sparkle sound effect often used for a light flickering. Finger flicking an empty glass for a nice impact and some random plastic hits made the lights shutting down interesting and unique, although not quite realistic I found out it matches the scene nicely. Some tips below:

1️⃣ Experiment when there's something obvious to use, you can end up with a unique sound effect
2️⃣ As always, Reverb is the best friend
3️⃣ Use high cut filter automation when proximity effect is needed. Objects closer to the camera have more high frequencies than the ones far away.
4️⃣ Ableton's Filter delay can be used as a stereo widener if delay times for each channel are slightly out of sync - in this case set to 1ms and 10ms
5️⃣ Pitching down/up will give you more variety if you're limited with the recorded sounds
