John Muir Trail NOBO - Day 12 / Bishop Pass

These videos show my 1 month journey, during August 2024, on the John Muir Trail going northbound from cottonwoods campground to Happy Isles in Yosemite national park. Each video provides a complete day on this majestic trail.
Much better day today. However, found myself very reflective and introspective about this great trail. I was finally realizing that I can actually make it to the end since I was about to finish my 2nd section and 2nd week on the trail.
When I planned this trip back in Jan/2024 the san joaquin river bridge was out and there wasn't a planned date when it would be fixed. I also figured out that at my hiking pace I would have to carry too much food to make it to VVR. Therefore, I decided to push Muir Pass/Evolution to next time I come and do the alternative over Bishop Pass/Piute Pass. I was extremely happy I did this. I really enjoyed this section of the trail and also enjoyed that my food carry wouldn't be too bad - Happy with the decision.
Bishop Pass trail is comprised of a nice mountain pass, beautiful lakes, and a very unusual ORANGE sandy section, surrounded by nice greenery and lakes. Really nice day - loved it.
