When your Sturtevant Richmont System 8 or TorqTronics 2 is taken to 120% or more of the rated capacity, our quality protection program initiates. We call if Fail Safe Engineering and it is designed to protect your torque application quality.

The program alerts the operator that the unit has been taken to 120% or more of the rated capacity and that the overload flag must be reset. You should also check the transducer to see if it has been taken out of tolerance or possibly damaged.

Resetting the flag is simple. This video walks you through the basic steps. To reset the flag you need a terminal program such as pUTTy, TerraTerm, Earth Terminal, Hyper-Terminal or other terminal emulator programs. Or, you can use Torque Tool Manager 4.0 because it includes a terminal function in the Utilities section.

This video explains the process and demonstrates how to reset the flag.
