CORRECTION OF ERROR
a) Error of omission: errors that result from a partial or complete omission of a transaction from the account books.
Partial omission: happens when only one part of the transaction is recorded, either debit or credit, but not both
b) Error of commission: error that occurs when a bookkeeper or accountant records a debit or credit to the correct account but to the wrong subsidiary account or ledger.
c) Error of principle: accounting entries recorded in the incorrect account.
d) Original entry error: when the wrong amount is posted to an account.
e) Casting error: where a list of items has been incorrectly totaled up, or a ledger balance has been balanced incorrectly.
1. Undercast: type of forecasting error that occurs when estimates turn out to be below realized values
2. Overcast: type of forecasting error that occurs when an estimated metric is forecast too high.
f) Transposition error: error that is caused by substituting two (or more) sequential digits.
