Score / sheet music to a recitative and aria for tenor solo by Zelenka, /Z. 172/, parodying music from his masterpiece, the Melodrama "Sub olea pacis, et palma virtutis", /Z. 175/ of 1729.
This "Christmas motetto" of 1723 /and possibly revised in 1729/, textual parody's specifically the two aria's "Proh, quaeseris in clementia" and "Veni auster, lux perennis". The seventh chord harmonies of the accompanied recitative deserve special attention, as does the elegant scoring of the aria, which comprises two recorders, two transverse flutes, strings and continuo - the recorders and flutes lending this motetto it's Christmas theme and pastoral character
