Used 1/8” thick 1 1/2” x 1 1/2” angle iron. Got some panel for free so used what we had available and built the trap to the panels dimensions. In this case the trap is roughly 35” tall by 40” wide by 8’ long. The trigger is a simple trip wire style trigger. The rope is tied to the bottom of the trap door with a pulley at the top to guide the rope through 3 everbilt zinc plated quick links to the hitch point where the rope is held till a Hog trips it and lets the door slam shut. Made the top of the trap a convertible hinged top. This will allow for easy access to the hogs to pull them out or drag them to the front of the door for easy removal and if by chance you happen to trap a deer it is super simple to let them out. This is a new and improved design compared to the very first trap I built that makes it much more efficient when setting the trap or taking your harvest out of the trap.
