Good news for all employees! The government just made 3 big changes to your Provident Fund (PF) process
Here's what's new
No more cancelled cheque or passbook
uploads for PF claims!
Earlier, to claim your PF, you had to upload a scanned copy of your cancelled cheque or bank passbook.
Now, if your bank account is linked with your UAN (Universal Account Number), your name gets auto-verified directly from the bank.
This reduces documentation errors and saves
a lot of time.
You can now link your bank account to PF
without employer approval Previously, you needed your employer's green signal to link your bank details with your PF.
Now, just log in to the UAN portal, use your Aadhaar OTP, and you're done -

3. Want to change your PF bank account? You
can do it yourself!
No need to visit your office or submit physical forms.
Just go to the EPFO portal, enter
Your new bank account number
IFSC code Aadhaar-linked mobile OTP

And boom - your new bank details will be updated in the system.
This also ensures your PF amount doesn't bounce or get delayed during withdrawals.
These updates are part of EPFO's digital revamp - making the system more transparent, employee-first, and paperless.
