Under our Zordial Laboratory program "Explore the More”, we explored the “Declarative Lookup Roll-Up Summaries (DLRS)”

Module: DLRS = A community-supported, Open-source tool by Andrew Fawcett.
 
                Allows rollups on lookup relationships — something not  natively supported by Salesforce.
 
                Ideal for Admins and Developers who want to avoid writing Apex code for rollups.
 
                Supports rollups across standard and custom objects.
 
                Easily configurable via UI.


Use case :
A project manager wants to see the total number of completed tasks related to a Project record, displayed directly on the Project page.
 
Solution Using DLRS:
Parent Object: Project (pse__Proj__c)
Child Object: Task (pse__Project_Task__c)
Relationship: Lookup
 
DLRS Configuration:
Rollup Type: Count
Filter Condition: Status = 'Completed'
Aggregate Result Field on Project: Total_Completed_Tasks__c     
Business Value: This helps PMs quickly understand project progress by showing how many tasks are completed — all without manual updates or custom code.
