Benny the Butcher - Tana Talk 4 INITIAL REACTION

My first listen and reaction to Benny the Butcher’s “Tana Talk 4”. Buffalo native Benny the Butcher has been on a meteoric rise since his 2018 release Tana Talk 3. Tana Talk 3 was my introduction to not just Benny, but hi group Griselda. His the vivid coke tales, elite rapping, and menacing instrumentals made him one of my favorite rappers after just the first listen.

There’s been a slight shift in Benny’s content imo, as his last 2 albums Burden of Proof and Plugs I Met 2, saw him pursuing a more mainstream sound. Consequently, I wasn’t as high on his last 2 albums as I was on Tana Talk 3 and his 2019 album “Plugs I Met”. That said the Tana Talk series is almost synonymous with the style of rap that made me a fan and me - as well as most fan - see anticipate this album as a return to form and style.
