Episode 2//The 2023 Orange Beach BillFish Classic

These three days of fishing out of our home town tested us on every level. From missed fish to sharks to just an over all grueling three days Team All IN pushed themselves to the limit and as a result they were able to catch two beautiful blue marlin on the third day.

Even though we were able to catch and release these two blue marlin which allowed us a shot at the winners circle, we were subject to the clock. Four other teams also caught two blue marlin and one other team (Briar Patch- a 68’ Viking) caught a third.

The three blue marlin would hold to win the Catch and Release division, forcing the other 5 boats who released two blue marlin to be placed according to their release times. This meant that who ever caught their two blue marlin first would be placed above the rest. This left Team All IN at a reluctant 6th place.

Even though we placed 6th, we saw this result as a reflection of our overall performance, not only among the gulf coast fleet, but amount the crew itself. Seeing where we can improve allows us to take a step back and breakdown our next tournament performance. Constantly adjusting and improving allows us to gain not only confidence in each other, but it puts us in a state of effortless flow. This allows each crew member to do their job to the best of their ability without a second thought.

Each tournament we enter in we obviously strive to win, but win or lose we always breakdown our performance and prepare to do even better the next time. So we see OBBC as evidence that we are doing well, but we can still improve, and having that baseline frees us up to look at each factor of the trip so we can improve what we need to.

Congratulations to all the competitors! Our next video is The 2023 Cajun Canyons Billfish Classic based out of Venice Louisiana. Go check it out and make sure to LIKE & SUBSCRIBE for more Marlin Madness.
