P90 Pickup Comparison: Gibson, Tyson '57 Wraptail, Lollar Alnico Pole

Описание к видео P90 Pickup Comparison: Gibson, Tyson '57 Wraptail, Lollar Alnico Pole

I recently picked up this Gibson Custom Shop '58 Junior Reissue, and while it sounded great with the Tyson Toneworks '57 Wraptail that the previous owner had installed, it was considerably hotter than the Jazzmaster I typically use, so I thought I'd try out the Lollar Alnico Pole P90, which uses individual Alnico slug magnets for each string and is wound a bit flatter and wider, more like a Jazzmaster pickup. Since I had the original Gibson pickup, I figured I'd show all three.

Amp is a Princeton Reverb w/ a 12" WGS ET65.
Gain is from a Lovepedal Amp Eleven

Mic'd with an AKG C414 XLII through a Universal Audio Solo/610 into a firepod interface. No adjustments made to EQ or volume for any of the pickupos - exact same amp, pedal and guitar settings for all three.

Pretty quick setup, but hopefully useful to someone!

Note: There is a little crackle right at the start of the section with the Lollar and a clean setting... this is because I was just alligator clipping the leads into the circuit so I could switch them in and out easily when doing the comparison, and I shorted it out for a second by bumping the wires.
