£15 Ukulele from a supermarket - Should you buy a cheap uke?

My review of the £15 ukulele from Lidl supermarket and some advice on buying ukuleles at this price range.

Im usually very anxious about ukuleles at this level, especially when the local supermarket are selling them. It just screams mass production and bad quality. However, I was pleasantly surprised by it. It was holding its tune after about 30 mins and the workmanship looked decent. When it came time to change the strings, that's when i ran into some issues. The tuning pegs were very stiff and needed oil just to get them moving. One of the pegs came loose and required me to get a screwdriver and tighten it up. Once the Aquilias were settling in and keeping in tune, it sounded so much better. Its almost like it came to life.
