Sup folks!
Well, for my first hexagonal piece it turned out great 😀! Set up was a real bugger giving the travel restrictions of my milling attachment. The block itself came in fairly close considering it's a rough piece of hex stock. I feel kinda bad for not including the math involved for calculating a hex in a random circle so here it is.
This is the simplified version 😉.
R(.866025)=apothem of your hex. (.866025 is the sine of 60deg.)
Incidentally, this number can also be used for calculating thread depth 😊. My 20tpi thread for instance. 1/20=.05, then .05x.866025=.04330125 (or just .043" 😁)
