Rainger FX: Flanger-X // Experimental Flanger

The Rainger FX Flanger-X is David Rainger’s take on the classic flanger pedal, covering everything from subtle chorus warble to massive, modulated sweeps. It’s housed in Rainger’s distinctive steel mini-pedal enclosure (all top jacks!) and the modulation speed can be controlled on the fly with its Igor expression controller. Flanger-X also features a “Rocket” function, recreating the sound of a space rocket launch, that can be envelope controlled, always-on, or engaged in sudden bursts with Igor. In this demo video we employ the Flanger-X on both guitar and bass in a rock band context, then we take it in a vicious ambient direction to highlight its unorthodox textural qualities.
