Covenant of Baptism

President Henry B. Eyring, second counselor in the First Presidency, will celebrate his 90th birthday on May 31, 2023. Reflecting on his nine decades of life, President Eyring recalled the strong feelings he had as an 8-year-old child when he was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

“I knew that I had made a covenant with God. And there's great joy possible if you live the covenants that you've made.”

This Church News video, titled “Covenant of Baptism,” features President Eyring sharing his testimony of covenants. As he approaches 90, President Eyring still holds the strong feeling he had at his baptism. He knows his commitment to Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is “really serious,” he said.
