2. Liabilities: Financial obligations owed to others.
o Short-term: Debts payable within a year.
o Long-term: Debts due beyond a year.

3. Equity: Residual value of assets after deducting liabilities.
o Shareholders' equity: Investments by shareholders.
o Retained earnings: Reinvested profits in business.

Purpose of a Balance Sheet:-

1. Overview of Financial Health: Snapshot of assets, liabilities, and equity.

2. Stakeholder Information: Assesses financial stability for investors, creditors, and management.

3. Regulatory Compliance: Ensures legal and tax compliance.

4. Performance Analysis: Identifies trends and calculates financial ratios.

Note :- Below is a simplified example of balance sheet of telecom company, it may include more line items depending on the operations and reporting practices of a company.
