Grey Fantail - Eleanor Brimblecombe

Описание к видео Grey Fantail - Eleanor Brimblecombe

'Grey Fantail' (2024) explores snippets of the virtuosic singing of the Australian bird. Through repetition and development of themes, a bigger picture is revealed of the bird in its natural habitat. Grey Fantails followed me through my travels, like the fervent security guards of the forest, capturing my attention and forcing me to listen to their interrogations. Their stubborn yet whimsical character is the driving force for this composition.

Performed by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra Fellows 2024, under the stellar lead of conductor Roger Benedict. This piece was part of the inaugural Sydney Conservatorium of Music Composition Winterschool 2024. Thank you to Liza Lim, Matthew Hindson, and Roger Benedict for your guidance.
