An autism diagnosis can be helpful, for many. Parents struggling to find answers for help and support will need an official diagnosis of a condition to best help their child.

Autistic adults who are undiagnosed will also benefit from an official autism diagnosis for access to help and support where needed in their life.

The interesting thing is that the diagnosis typically only offers those access routes and if you are not in need of support, care or any kind of help officially then the diagnosis becomes less important.

Some adults who are on the autism spectrum find that they don’t need an official diagnosis to do anything for them or their life and that labels and such should not define who they are.

It is best to respect everyone’s wishes as to what they prefer in relation to an autism diagnosis.
