This summer, we packed our bags and flew back to Haikou, Hainan—my hometown—to visit my grandma and soak up some family vibes!

From the quiet life in the village to the buzzing streets of Haikou city, we crammed so many adventures into just a few days:

🏍 Village Life:
Riding as a family on a single motorcycle through dusty village roads
Teaching my son how to play with firecrackers (safely, of course!)
Visiting a pig farm and getting a glimpse of rural life

🏨 City Escape:
Staying at the stunning @InterContinental Haikou, with a gorgeous pool overlooking Haikou Bay.
A good family holiday cannot be completed without a visit to the indoor playground
Joining a hotel event to learn the traditional bamboo dance—it was so fun trying something new as a family!
Splashing around in the massive pool and soaking in those vacation vibes

🌃 City Lights & Food Delights:
Visiting the famous night market outside Hainan University, tasting delicious street food and local snacks
Wandering through Qilou Old Street, admiring the old architecture and soaking in the city’s history

This trip was extra special because it was all about family, memories, and reconnecting with our roots. We hope our adventures bring a smile to your face and maybe inspire your own family travels!
