Welcome, my name is Phil, and in this video I look at an unusual 6 star system.

The 6 stars system, known as TYC 7037-89-1, is a collection of 3 eclipsing binary star systems that orbit a common centre of mass.

An eclipsing binary star system is a pair of stars that orbit a common centre of and pass in front of each other as viewed from Earth. Normally the stars are too far away to resolve both stars and instead we can only see the combined light of both stars.
