Hi, I’m Tamiko. Thank you for visiting the Talking with Tam podcast—your dedicated space for real, raw, and rewarding talk on working with children, youth, and teens.

We’ve all heard the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child." But in today’s fast-paced world, many parents and professionals feel like they are wandering that village alone. I started this channel to change that. I want to create a space where we can come together as a community to share wisdom, find support, and build new avenues for our young people to thrive.

Why Listen to Tam? I am not a doctor, a therapist, or a clinical researcher. I am a Childcare Professional with over 26 years of hands-on experience. My "classroom" hasn't just been anywhere—it has been within Military Child and Youth Programs (CYP).

For nearly three decades, I have stood on the front lines with military families. I have seen the unique resilience of "military brats," the challenges of constant PCS moves, and the strength it takes for a child to navigate life while a parent is deployed. My insights aren't from a textbook; they are from 26 years of morning hand-offs, teenage breakthroughs, and building programs that serve as a second home for our youth.
