I put the Canon SD1000 digicam to the test in Angus, Ontario.

The Canon PowerShot SD1000 was released in 2007. Though discontinued, it remains popular among Digicam enthusiasts like @KingJvpes (and myself😉).

It boasts a 7.1 MP camera, 3x optical zoom, and a CDD sensor—known for producing more "filmlike" images than the more modern CMOS sensors that succeeded it.

For this "field test," I tried out a few "iconic" sites within Angus, such as the Clock Tower, Glen Eton Park, and Peacekeeper's Park, as well as the perhaps not as iconic No Frills Plaza. 😁

Verdict: I like it! The photos are sharp enough for social media sharing, and the camera's point-and-shoot nature makes it easy to operate. I can also see how it can produce "filmlike" images, especially with a few tweaks in post-production. The only challenge I've noticed is that I have to be a bit more careful with holding the camera steady to ensure crisp imagery, as the image stabilization does not seem as good as my newer Canon Rebel 7 DSLR.
