The first spin skaters learn is the two-foot spin because it is the foundation for all other spins in skating. With this spin skaters will learn what a spin feels like as well as where to balance their weight on the skate. Once a skater feels comfortable with a two-foot spin and can hold the spin for a minimum of 3 revolutions in the position, they move onto the one-foot spin. This is the same as the two-foot except the skater will lift their free leg up leaving them to spin on one foot. From here, all other spins in figure skating are completed with the use of only one foot on the ice. I will leave a link for more spin tutorials down below.
