Revision Rotator Cuff Repair can be extremely challenging in many ways. It is important to understand why the tendon re tore as well as how bad is the re-tear and what is the state of the remaining tendon? Is there severe arthritis of the joint? What are all the pain generators? How big is the tear? What is the configuration of the tear? Has the rotator cuff muscle shrunken or turned into fat? Is the patient a set-up for failure because they smoke or have diabetes? How will this repair be different from the first? From the technical standpoint they are challenging.
