Welcome to our Warwick Castle vlog, where we are excited to witness the first public appearance of Warwick Castle's brand new trebuchet this spring!

As one of warwick's main tourist attractions, Merlin Entertainment announced £500,000 plans last November to rebuild the castle's medieval siege weapon, which was no longer in working order.

We were thrilled to witness the return of Britain's biggest siege machine in 'The Legend of the Trebuchet' show which is set to open to the public on the 1st of April. The show features a 90kg projectile being hurled hundreds of meters through the air at the castle's Riverside Arena.

The new replica siege machine is replacing the much-loved trebuchet (Urma) at Warwick Castle, which fired nearly 11,000 times after it was built in 2005.

Built to 13th and 14th century original designs, the new 18-meter, 22-tonne machine is made from over 300 pieces of wood and is capable of launching projectiles up to 300 meters. It is truly a marvel to witness in action!

The Legend of the Trebuchet show takes place twice a day every day until 5 November 2023 and is included in the price of general admission tickets. We highly recommend adding this to your itinerary when visiting Warwick Castle. It's an incredible experience that the whole family will enjoy!
