To choose the floor you want to go to just click the noteblock that amount of times. The elevator has only 8 levels, therefore if you accidentally click more than 8 times it doesn´t break instead it will start counting from 1 again. For example if you click it 10 times the elevator will go to the second floor (or first floor depending on how fast you clicked, because the resetting from 8 to 1 takes a bit of time).

Upon arrival the elevator doors open automatically and close after a short moment. The doors can again be opened from the outside using the button or from the inside using the noteblock. The doors will then remain in that position (closed or opened).
If the elevator moves to a different level the doors close automatically in case they are not closed already.
You can call the elevator from any level to your level.
