This event marked the launch of Racial Diversity UK (RDUK), a new Nuffield Foundation programme exploring how the UK’s colonial past, Commonwealth migration and evolving racial diversity shape the country’s present and future.

The event brought together researchers, policymakers, civil society leaders and journalists. It featured short presentations from the first-ever cohort of RDUK grant holders - Professor Keon West, Sunder Katwala, Professor Nasar Meer and Dr Sarah Kyambi - who introduced their newly funded research projects and outlined what they aim to achieve.

This was followed by a panel discussion, “Building just and inclusive futures" with Professor Catherine Hall, Sathnam Sanghera and Rupinder Parhar. The event was chaired by Nuffield Trustees Professor Ann Phoenix and Professor Ash Amin.
