Hey hey yall!
Today was an exciting but expensive day.lol We finally took the plunge and purchased a half cow aka half beef. We ordered from Forest Cattle and our butcher was Kelso meats.

Theres nothing better than getting your beef straight from the rancher (well the butcher has to cut and package it) where theres no middle man or meat plant processing your meat.

I searched high and low for a good rancher that takes extra care of his herd and doesnt use hormones or chemicals. His cows are 100% grass fed & finished pastured red & black angus. Ive read amazing reviews and my family and I are so excited to taste the meat.

Our cows hanging weight was 457lbs. We paid a total of $2265.15 (1/2 cow, cutting, packaging, butchering slaughtering ALL of it). The cow was $1805.15 @ $3.80 per pound plus tax and slaughter fees. Butcher price was $.98 per pound with no tax using cash.
We ended up with approx 324lbs take home (That includes bones, tallow, organs etc).
