Far East Gold Ltd CEO Shane Menere talked with Proactive about a major expansion to the company’s exploration scope at its Idenburg Project in Indonesia. The company has identified 14 new high-priority targets following a structural assessment conducted by Murphy Geological Services. This brings the total number of defined prospects across the 95,280-hectare tenement to 29.

The new target areas were established using high-resolution Sentinel-2 satellite imagery and interpreted at scales of 1:10,000 to 1:20,000. This provided a district-scale structural framework, which highlighted zones with strong potential for further gold discovery.

The expanded exploration footprint now includes 11 Priority 1, eight Priority 2, and 10 Priority 3 targets. Among the most promising areas is North Bermol, which has already delivered high-grade gold hits in recent drilling campaigns. The company confirmed that mineralisation continues along strike and at depth in this zone.

Menere said: “With the addition of 14 new target areas from this structural evaluation, we have significantly expanded the scope for discovery.”

Idenburg is located within a globally significant mining corridor and sits alongside Tier-1 deposits such as Grasberg, Porgera, Frieda River and Ok Tedi.
