Follow these 5 tips to brew the perfect bowl of ceremonial grade Nishi matcha.

How to make the perfect bowl of Nishi matcha at home:
1. Soak whisk in hot water to soften the tines of the whisk and prevent the tips from breaking off.
2. Sift matcha using a fine mesh tea sieve. Ultra fine matcha can be extra clumpy. To prevent clumps forming in the tea bowl, use a fine mesh tea sieve to sieve the matcha. Sieving the matcha will also help the matcha froth easily.
3. Add between 50 - 80ml of hot water 70°C / 158°F to the tea bowl with matcha. Only add a small amount first so that it is easier to whisk the matcha tea without making too much mess.
4. Whisk the matcha. First start in a circular motion to spread the matcha powder in the tea bowl. Then transition whisk movements into a fast "W" shape until the tea becomes frothy.
5. Top up with water to your desired taste.
