Tetanus vaccine lasts max 10 years. So yes, this is true.

If you do get the tetanus vaccine, it will usually be part of a trivalent vaccine, which means that a vaccine that protects you from three things at the same time in one injection. And so the other things are diphtheria and polio. So we call it the diphtheria, tetanus and polio vaccine or the DTP vaccine.

And so when you get this vaccine, we expect it to protect you for up to 10 years from those three diseases. And you usually get it in the UK when you're a child and then you might get a booster in your teenage years. And if you never leave the UK, you are not likely to ever get a booster for this vaccine.

But if you are likely to travel when you grow up then it is a good idea to get a injection of diphtheria tetanus and polio vaccine to protect you every 10 years especially if you want to continue traveling.
