The Meaning Behind Baju Melayu | SAYS In A Nutshell

Описание к видео The Meaning Behind Baju Melayu | SAYS In A Nutshell

Did you know that a piece of cloth could tell you that the person is single and ready to mingle? 👀

Yup, that’s the samping (not spelled sampin ye!), which is one out of five essential pieces that make up the Baju Melayu.

In Malaysia, the traditional attire comes in two distinct styles, the Baju Teluk Belanga and Baju Cekak Musang.

In this video, we explain the meanings the buttons and pockets carry, and how the placement of the samping could even tell you the man’s relationship status!

The Baju Melayu is commonly worn in Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, parts of Thailand and the Philippines.
