Playing With Vietnamese | Company Of Heroes Indochine *Alpha*

The Mod takes place in Vietnam between 1946 and 1955 during the "First Indochina War", known in Vietnam as the "French War".
The Vietminh, but also the French used a wide variety of weapons, especially firearms, from all over the world,
mostly still WW2 weapons, as there were millions and millions of them.
The Viet Minh were supplied by the English and Americans when French-Indochina was seized by Japan.
After the WW2 the Japanese left and the French came back to reclaim their colony.
By then the Viet Minh gathered lots of japanese leftover weapons. Also around 3000 japanese soldiers stayed
with the Viet Minh and trained them. After all, they fought against the European oppressors.
The Viet Minh also captured lots of weapons from the French and started to manufacture their own weapons later on.
On the other hand, the French used some old french, but mostly U.S. and british equipment from WW2.
Even weapons like captured german StGs44 made it to the Far East.
When their own weapon industry was re-established, their infantries firearms became more regulated.
So you will see MANY different rifles,smgs,lmgs,smgs and various types of infantry AT-weapons in the mod.
And hear. I tried to use as many real weapon sounds as possible.
Everything took up pace when the chinese communists won the civil war. They and the Soviets now started to
heavily support the Viet Minh.
On the other hand, the U.S.A was not very keen to help the french at first, as they opposed the idea of
re-colonisation. That changed with the war in Korea. The fight against itnernational communism became priority
No.1, and therefore the french received more and more aid by the U.S.
