Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower released Singapore’s 2026 public holiday schedule in June 2025. The holidays listed include New Year’s Day, Chinese New Year (2 days), Hari Raya Puasa (date subject to confirmation), Good Friday, Labour Day, Hari Raya Haji (date subject to confirmation), Vesak Day, National Day, Deepavali, and Christmas Day.

By month and date, the list is this: New Year’s Day on 1 Jan (Thursday). Chinese New Year on 17 and 18 Feb (Tuesday and Wednesday). Hari Raya Puasa is expected around 21 Mar (Saturday), but the date is subject to confirmation. Good Friday falls on 3 Apr (Friday). Labour Day is on 1 May. Hari Raya Haji is listed on 27 May (Wednesday), subject to confirmation. Vesak Day is on 31 May (Sunday), so the public holiday is observed on 1 Jun (Monday).

After that, the next holidays are National Day on 9 Aug (Sunday), observed on Monday; Deepavali on 8 Nov (Sunday), observed on Monday; and Christmas Day on 25 Dec (Friday). The leave strategy described applies to people working Monday to Friday, and aims to “stretch” each break into the longest possible holiday.

The proposed plan uses 14 leave days to reach 50 off days is this: take leave on 2 Jan to get 4 consecutive off days; take leave on 16 Feb, 19 Feb and 20 Feb to turn the Chinese New Year period into 9 consecutive off days; and take leave on 25 May, 26 May, 28 May and 29 May to form a 10-day break around Hari Raya Haji and Vesak Day (with Hari Raya Haji’s date noted as subject to confirmation). That totals 8 leave days for 23 off days, then take leave on 28–31 Dec to create another 10 consecutive off days (12 leave days for 33 off days total). Five public-holiday long weekends (Hari Raya Puasa, Good Friday, Labour Day, National Day, Deepavali) add another 15 off days, and the remaining 2 leave days can be used on any of those long weekends to bring the total to 50.
