This simulation shows the impact of a 7.5cm PzGr. 39 being fired from a German Panther G tank at a range of 0.46KM, targeting the front hill of a Soviet T-34-85 tank with Kontakt-1 ERA plates attached.

The Kontakt-1 system consists of hundreds of standalone containers. Each container includes two ERA panels positioned at an angle relative to each other. A single panel is 5.4 mm thick with a 260g explosive liner, surrounded by a 2.3 mm thick steel sheet. The container weighs 5.3 kg, and the full complement's weight varies from 1.2 to 2 tons depending on the number of containers used. This additional weight will definitely require an upgrade to the 500 hp engine of the T-34.

Keeping in mind that Kontakt-1 was made to defeat regular non-tandem shaped charges and not intended to handle kinetic energy penetrators. The reduction of AP round’s velocity and the disturbance of the hitting angle may reduce the damage for different scenarios. However, this is not the case here and the driver turned into pieces.
