Antonio Salieri - Catilina, Sinfonia (Autograph Score)

Описание к видео Antonio Salieri - Catilina, Sinfonia (Autograph Score)

Antonio Salieri (1750-1825) is one of Mozart's well-known-but-bad-known contemporaries, but his music remains unknown to the general public: successful composer, conductor, teacher, hofkamellmaster, kammerkomponist, etc. he composed around 45 operas and was the favorite composer and protege of Emperor Joseph II Habsburg.

In 1790-92 (years of the death of Mozart) he composed a curious opera Catilina about intrigues and Roman fights that were not carried out until 1994. In the Sinfonia we can see that ferocity, that religious-Roman song, the military triumph ... in a special work that announces the early narrative ouvertures of nineteenth-century music.
