CX500 Electric Fan Conversion With R1 Fan! - EP8

CX500 Electric Fan Conversion With Yamaha R1 Fan! This CX500 e-fan conversion is not my first and I am always looking for good fan options. This swap uses a fan found on a 1998-2002 Yamaha R1 which is just over 8 inches in diameter allowing max coverage of the CX500 radiator. This fan looks very promising in its size, depth, current draw, and mounting design. Watch as I fit it to the stock radiator shroud for a clean install!

The fan used is part number 4XV-12405-00-00

Yes this does require cutting the camshaft for necessary clearance. Here is a video where I modified mine along with the tach drive:
