On October 26th, 2024, opening day of deer dog training season, a Master Officer from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation was on patrol in the John M. Bethea State Forest.
The officer approached a silver GMC truck with a dog box, and its driver was asked for his hunting license and permits. The man claimed he didn't have them and wasn't hunting. But inside that dog box was a hunting dog, wearing an active tracking collar.
The driver then admitted he knew officers were in the area and said he was planning to leave to get the proper licenses.
Next, the officer spotted a cooler. When asked what was inside, the driver confessed it contained alcohol. He was told to step out and hand over all the beverages. A total of twenty unopened cans of Busch Light beer were retrieved.
A routine check on the truck's tag revealed it was expired. And when asked for his driver’s license, the man handed over a fake Florida ID—a deception he quickly admitted to once he was caught.
