East Highland Way - Solo Wild Camp 2024

Описание к видео East Highland Way - Solo Wild Camp 2024

I caught the early train and set off with my Lanshan 1 tent to solo wild camp the East Highland Way from Fort William to Aviemore. After a 11 hour journey, I arrived at Fort William and hiked 3 miles to Glen Nevis Campsite where tired after a long day I pitched my tent and slept ready for the journey ahead. The next morning after a rainy start I set off after stopping for food at Spean Bridge I carried and found a small island off the River Spean where I set up camp for the night. The next day was a beautiful and sunny day and I headed towards Lock Laggan. After a long gravely uphill walk I reached the Loch. Unable to find a suitable spot to camp, I carried on along the Loch and found a wooded area that lead on to a deserted beach, it was idyllic, where I finally settled for the night. The next day started well, but I soon started to feel unwell (I later tested positive for Covid) and after a hot and feverish walk I came to Laggan, where the kind locals allowed me to rest in the Community Center until the next morning. In the morning a lady offered me a lift to Newtonmore Train Station, where, feeling very sorry for myself, I caught the train home.
