RIDE is the third single from the Frank Popp Ensemble's current album, "Waves." The song breaks somewhat from the project's usual spectrum, revealing traces of slightly krautrock-infused Motorik sounds à la NEU! and minimalist 80s guitars familiar from early Sonic Youth or Television Personalities, yet retaining the aesthetics of the Popp sound. It's a driving, monotonous express train featuring his own voice for the very first time as the old demo for RIDE was recorded back in 2010 in a basement behind the legendary White Trash on Schönhauser Allee Berlin. After a new reworking, the song has now finally found its place on a Frank Popp Ensemble recording. It's also one of the few songs that Frank Popp recorded completely by himself.
