SENT is the abbreviation of Single Edge Nibble Transmission and is the implementation of the SAE Standard - SAE J2716 - which describes a data protocol for digital data transmission. SENT is used to transmit signal values between sensors and micro-controllers.

Step by step sensors are equipped with SENT and thus replace analogue sensor signals. SENT is still mainly used within the automotive industry but starting to be used in other industries as well.
