OP-Z quick jam # 3

I've been enjoying trying out the new OP-Z electric piano synth engine while on lockdown. So after a day pottering in the garden I decided to record this quick little jam.

An FM electric piano is one of the quintessential sounds of the 80s, so I had to create a new kit of big gated drums to go with it. The kit was made using a combination of synthesis and some real drum kit recordings I made last year with the help of my good friend Andrew Binnie.

Teenage Engineering have done a great job of updating the OPZ lately and the new synth engines (EP, analog, organ) do loads to broaden the palette of the machine (as did the revised LFOs). Hopefully they'll keep this up because it's making the z a really fun instrument to keep revisiting.
