Uniform Civil Code | The meeting of the Parliamentary Committee for Law and Justice took place on Monday in Parliament to discuss the issue of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). The opposition parties questioned the BJP government over Centre's intention to implement the UCC. The Nationalist Congress Party, who were recently in news because of political turmoil in Maharashtra, Trinamool Congress, were absent from the meeting. However, DMK, Congress, Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), lashed out at the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government for bringing the Uniform Civil Code.
