Now that Lucifero has appeared it's very likely that the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc will end within the next few chapters. But what's next for Black Clover? Will the series end? Or will a new arc begin?

What is the future for Black Clover? The end of the Spade Kingdom Raid arc seems nearer than ever before with the final devil Lucifero finally making his appearance in our world. And unless all 7 levels of the Advent of Qliphoth will be opened, allowing even more devils to pour through, or the 4th Zogratis sibling or even Julius end up being elevated to even larger threats the arc will probably end soon. However, in an interview with Francetvinfo Black Clover creator Yuki Tabata was asked “Is Black Clover a story meant to last for years like One Piece or Naruto?” And Tabata responded by saying, “Yes, I would like to and I will do whatever it takes to make that happen. I prepare myself psychologically not to have a vacation for a long time!” So if Tabata is still planning on keeping the story going then a new arc will undoubtedly start soon, but first before talking about the future of Black Clover, I wanna clear up some confusion over one of Tabata’s recent statements. During Jump Festa 2022 Tabata thanked fans for their support and said “The main story is about to be moving forward at a fast pace after this, and we’ll aim to keep the excitement going with Black Clover”. Now by fast pace what he most likely means is that the end of the Spade Kingdom arc and the beginning of the next arc will come soon. I highly doubt that Tabata is planning to rush through the rest of the story. And if you think about it it really wouldn’t make too much sense to do that, because even though the anime has ended, a movie is currently in development which is expected to release in Japan Summer 2022, and the number of fans that want the anime to return is massive. Anyways, now that the Spade Kingdom Raid arc seems to be coming to an end, I’ve started to wonder what could be in store next for Black Clover as a whole. Asta still isn’t the Wizard King and it seems like he still has quite a ways to go before he reaches his dream. Also the Black Clover map mainly shows the 4 kingdoms, Clover, Heart, Diamond, and Spade, but you can actually see that it extends further north above the Spade kingdom. So that’s one of the places the story could explore next. Also since almost the beginning of the story we’ve been leading up to the end of this current arc, with the Elves starting basically at the very beginning of the story and leading directly into the Devil arc seeing as the Tree of Kabbalah is the direct opposite of the Tree of Qliphoth, with the former being life and the latter death. Hence the Elves being brought back to life and William and Yami being sacrifices to bring the Devils to our world. Anyways, since this large portion of the story spanning back to the very beginning is almost guaranteed to end following the conclusion of the Spade Kingdom Raid arc, what’s next? Well there are a few plot points that have been mentioned throughout the story that haven’t been explored fully, for example Charmy was revealed to be a half dwarf in chapter 194, there’s also the Hino Country where Yami’s from, we need to learn more about Julius’ past and possibly even some of the other Wizard Kings, the Neutral Territory where the Witches Forest dwells could also be explored further as it’s said that many other areas exist within it, and there’s probably some other plot points that I’m missing. In my opinion though opening up the map and either exploring North past the Spade kingdom and possibly finding the Dwarves, or exploring the Hino country since Yami’s been a key figure in this arc literally being one of the keys needed to bring the devils to our world and it’s where Ki originated from would be interesting. Julius would also definitely wanna visit this country since Yami has Dark magic and Ki so who knows what other types of magic and abilities are hidden there? Something else that I’ve seen people talk about and could happen now more than ever, especially against Lucifero is that one of Asta’s swords breaks in battle and after defeating the Devil, the Black Bulls set out on a journey to find the Dwarves so that they can fix his weapon and also explore more of Charmy’s origin. Whatever this next arc ends up being though it needs to set up another massive part of the story, tie directly into at least a few more arcs and total another couple hundred chapters. So far in Black Clover there have been 10 arcs with each one tying into the next but basically being part of the main 2 bigger arcs. The Elf Reincarnation and Spade Kingdom Raid Arcs, so whatever direction the story heads in next needs to be on a scale similar to these if not bigger.
