After watching this microphone review, you will know how the TONOR mic sounds when using it for vocals, podcasting, or YouTube.

While normally I am a big fan of premium audio gear, today I want to have a closer look at a starter kit, that includes the BM-700 microphone, a basic preamp, cables, and a microphone suspension boom arm.

Especially beginners, who just want to try podcasting, and live-streaming, may benefit from an easy to use a kit like this.

Just keep in mind that the recording quality tends to be influenced by multiple factors. For example, this set is connected directly to your sound card, and while some analog to digital converters only supports 16-bit others can record audio in 24-bit.

One benefit of using XLR over USB is that you can, later on, switch out pieces of gear.

Let’s say you are on a budget and just want to try podcasting or live-streaming, then you could at some point down the road get an additional USB audio interface, or even tube-preamp and upgrade your gear that way.

If you are curious I can make an additional video testing the included BM-700 microphone with different audio interfaces/preamps so you can see the upgradability of this kit.
