Earl's Seat - 7th November 2023

Earl's Seat (578 m) is the highest hill of the Campsie Fells in Central Scotland. It lies on the border of Stirlingshire and East Dunbartonshire in central Scotland. Located on a plateau in the heart of the Campsies above the village of Strathblane, its summit is marked by a trig point.

A very different day, with Mark as my guide was a hike the bike up to the Summit of Earl's Seat, behind Dumgoyne for some nice downhill. We met at Mulgavie Railway station at 10am, and headed out the WHW until we got to Killearn, and headed for the track behind the village for the start of the climb to Dumgoyne.

Quite a climb, up there, was very boggy in places, and a few up's and down's going up ! - Max gradient on way up 28%. Was fun descending that bit. We didn't hang around long at the top, decided to come back the way we went up. - Then it was Strathblane via Pipe Track, where we parted company. I decided to take StrathKelvin and canal home, to be off road, as choob had no lights so a fun 10 miles back in the dark lol !
