Something about Pralia Katerini beach,Greece #hellasheavens#paralia#katerini
For those who didn't know, "Paralia" in Greek means beach, and this one in Paralia on the internet has from the most negative to the most positive comments. The beach in Paralia is about 6 km long and in some parts up to 100 m wide. The sand on the beach is very fine and extremely pleasant to walk on without shoes. The entry into the water is gradual in all parts of the beach and also with fine sand, and the shallows last up to 30 or even 40 m from the entry into the water. As a result, the water is somewhat warmer than on other beaches, so with a clean seabed, we can say that the beach is ideal for the youngest swimmers. The water is extremely clean but you will not have that impression because it is always cloudy with fine sand, so you will have the impression that you are swimming in a river or a lake. Sea grass or seaweed will almost always swim around you, so it's not uncommon to see pictures on the internet where you can see whole piles of grass in the shallows. There weren't too many of them during our visit but negative comments about the presence of jellyfish on this beach are not rare. Despite this, this beach is extremely popular, so in July and August it is almost impossible to find a free place in the central parts of the beach. As you go to the left of the city center, the crowd decreases, and some say that the water is cleaner, i.e. less cloudy, when you move away from the crowd. Given that the beach is very clean and well maintained...that it has lifeguards...showers and changing cabins...toilets and access for disabled people, it is not surprising that the beach in Paralia has been justifying the awarded blue flag for years. A large part of the beach is organized by beach bars with different offers...a few of them are extremely luxurious, but between the cafes there is plenty of free space for your umbrellas and towels. The beach has no natural shade. In several places, it is possible to rent props for water sports...and there are also a couple of fields for sports on the sand. It's not that there isn't that on other beaches, but on this one in Paralia, there are especially a lot of sellers of glasses, watches, bracelets and other souvenirs, and on the beach you'll be able to use the services of massage, tattooing or kika knitting...
Experience says that visitors to Paralia rarely visit other beaches, after all, this one is so big that you can swim in a different place every day... Accordingly, we also did not visit other beaches, but not by our own will, but because of very bad weather conditions. In addition to this, we were going to visit the beach of Olympic Beach, Nei Pori and the beach of Scotina, which many say is the most beautiful in this region, but we obviously have that left for another occasion. My first encounter with Greece was right here in Paralia in 2011.I had a great time even then but it wasn't love at first sight. Today, I like Paralia more as a place, you have seen how much content he offers you, but it seems to me that despite living in the neighborhood, Poseidon gave much more beautiful seas to some other parts of Greece. Do you agree or disagree, write in the comments and this is where the first adventure of the Hellas Heavens channel ends. See you soon from some new Greek heavens...
