At CED Stone depot, @cedstonelandscape Omagh, I was looking for a specific stone for a very specific project with a particular finish.
They had the solution but I had to see it, according to utter gentleman, genius brain and depot manager James Kane - thank you for taking the time to chat. It was narrowed to two and then became one.
There is at times a point where one wants a design to remain exactly as it should, but also at times, your client in mind always, a point where Solomon Burke is changed to Otis Redding and the endearment remains as you dreamt it.
In natural stone, it’s not off the shelf, manufactured and where it comes from, who and how it was brought in, it’s porosity and tinges, ripples and colour hues affect everything which, also affects fluctuations in price. All of these things (unless porcelain for eg) meant James’ initial intuition to get me and Denis there made perfect sense.
The heart remains the same. Decision made. Thank you James and team at @cedstonelandscape - as always, eloquently done.
