Some of you might know that I am the owner of 5X Racing, which is a Mazda Miata racing parts manufacturer with a focus on Spec Miata racing parts. I started racing karts when I was 8-years old in New York, which was the earliest I could start at that time. I used my karting experience to begin racing Spec Miata racing at the ripe old age of 25, but over the years have seen kids coming from karting starting as early as 14. And they, are, FAST! Once I saw this, I knew that this was what I was going to do with my kids (once I had them)!

Fast forward however many years and here I am with two boys, 6 and 3 years old who just happen to love motorsports too. I found out this past year that kids can start racing karts at 5-years old, and there's even a special class for them called "Kid Karts". They even race at the national level events such as Daytona Kart Weeks in December every year where the kids can compete to see who's the fastest in the country. I'm IN! Just had to find the kart - which we did - and start our training program (which we did, see the previous two videos about the Coleman Yard Kart).

With auto racing being my primary skill set, I believe I have the knowledge and ability to train my boys to become standout racers by the time they are 13-14 years old and fully prepped to step into a Miata racecar. Kid Karts are the very first step to this path and we are on our way! Do you think we have what it takes?
